Since people are always asking me about real estate and lifestyle matters, we introduced a light and fun monthly Q&A about all sorts of topics.
What I’ve learned from my recent sale of the Ertegun estate, and how it factors into the larger picture of the local market.
“I have learned that there is a price for every property and that we remain efficient in the overall process of days on the market and timing. In spite of the enormous wealth amongst the buyer pool, we have certainly yet to see—and will perhaps not ever see—the mind-blowing sale prices of Palm Beach happening here now or in the near future. The tax benefits for owning in the South Florida markets is a metric factor in what buyers are willing to and compelled to pay.”
An insider look at the East End’s golf scene.
“The East End truly has some of the best courses in the world. Yes, they are private clubs, but I have seen that those in our golf community who are members tend to be gracious with inviting guests and friends to play.”
Local tips for watching Fourth of July fireworks.
“There are many vantage points along the shorefront that have views of fireworks around the North and South Forks. For a ‘close up’ experience, it’s best to view them from Meadow Lane, Sag Harbor Village, the North Sea Carnival, Three Mile Harbor, East Hampton’s Main Beach and Devon Yacht Club, to name a few.”
Summer entertainment.
“My head is focused on the outdoors like watching sunsets, starry night skies and fireflies, which seem to be fewer this year. I’m also reading up on good grilling recipes for fresh fish, fine steaks and vegetables.”
